Lambswool Pompom Beanie
Lambswool Pompom Beanie
One year for my birthday I (Becky) asked Kevin for “a stripey wool pompom cap like they wear in the Rough Stuff Fellowship archive photos.” There are so many things about the Rough Stuff photos that are intriguing—that most of the riders are middle aged or older, the persistent terribleness of the weather, the matter-of-factness on their faces as they crawl on rock ledges while balancing a bike over their shoulders. And the fashion. Wool knee socks, charming tweed and ponchos abound. Anyway we finally found some caps that channel those Rough Stuff vibes, from the UK of course. They’re supersoft wool and they make you want to load your bike with teapots and leather bound books and ride over a glacier.
We just have a few, and they’re pricey because international shipping and import duties and all that.
They are one size, fits most, and the vertical ribs mean they’re stretchy. Great 3-season cap, as they’re medium-weight.
Made for Catherine Tough, from animal welfare assured 100%, pure Merino lambswool. The caps are knit in a traditional Scottish mill with over 100 years of textile heritage.
